Our Story
The Story Behind Daiga Learning
Daiga means “everyone” in Cantonese, and it’s the heart of why we started this school. We chose the name Daiga because we wanted to build an inclusive community where everyone is welcome.
When we looked for a place in our community to learn Cantonese from experienced teachers, we couldn’t find one, and we knew many others were searching too. We created Daiga Learning to fill that gap. We believe Cantonese should be within reach to anyone who wants to learn it, no matter their age, background, or proficiency level.
Maybe Cantonese was the language of your childhood, and you want your children to know it too. Maybe you grew up understanding only bits and pieces, wishing you could join in. Or maybe you’ve simply fallen in love with the language and want to learn. Whatever your story, it’s welcome here. We meet every student where they are, with patience, encouragement, and a genuine commitment to helping you grow.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” This famous Chinese proverb, attributed to the philosopher Lou5 Zi2 (Lao Tzu / 老子), reminds us that every learner starts somewhere. At Daiga Learning, we are honored to be part of that first step and every step that follows.
